Wales Somaliland Communities Link Development Officer

Job Purpose: To manage and develop the Wales Somaliland Community Link Project. This Project is funded by the Welsh Assembly Government (WAG) under its Wales for Africa Programme for a further period of 3 years up to March 31st 2012. Based with the Somali Progressive Association and working with a wide partnership of organisations in Wales and East Africa, the project seeks to promote and support activities addressing the UN Millennium Development Goals for poverty reduction through the involvement of the Diaspora Community within Wales, with mutual benefits for the communities in both Wales and Somaliland. The successful post holder will build from their experience to draw in wider partners and resources from within Wales and elsewhere, liaising and developing infrastructures with like minded organisations, civil society and Government, to deliver impactful projects on the ground in Wales and Somaliland.
